Nizhny Novgorod, a beautiful city not far from Moscow (relatively, in Russian distances) neither of us had ever been to. Numerous wooden buildings, many waiting for their restoration and a nice river bank along Europe’s longest river to explore.
Our hosts Sasha & Sveta with their 3 kids took us out in the evenings to enjoy street food in the wide pedestrian zone. Just before leaving to Vladimir we stopped by the Volga car factory in the South of the city. As you may know the Russian car models don’t change too much over 40 or so years, but as they also produce military and offroad tracked vehicles there were quite a few exhibits to explore. Also good to witness that all of the male school kids could name and identify the military vehicles instantly and correctly 🙂
