Day 31 and 800km behind

Yesterday as it was our “free day” we cycled to the Capital of Lake Balaton” – Siófok. The weather was just perfect, the sun was burning and cycling without luggage felt very unusual and fast.

We jumped in the water a couple of times and then we headed to the best fish restaurant in Siófok, that was recommended by Károly a friend of our hosts. By the way, Károly makes great Pálinka and of course we were given a bottle for the way 🙂

After cycling from Siófok to Polgardi, we went directly to the local pub where we were invited for celebration of  László’s name  day who is a friend of our hosts. His wife cooked wonderful pork stew and again Pálinka was poured non-stop.

We are leaving Polgardi today after spending terrific 3 days. All people we met here are unbelievably friendly, kind and hospitable, even with our very limited Hungarian we were understood, had great talks and laughs. Thank you very much Eleanor and Mat for hosting us in your beautiful caravan (now I want to have one myself). The time we spent with you was terrific! Good luck with your projects!
