Our first week in making wine…

It’s summer. With 35 degrees Celsius we decided to take looong Siestas now and start an hour early. Breakfast at 6. Certainly not how I envisioned extended holidays. Its very easy to get up though if you fall asleep at 10 pm from a hard days work ๐Ÿ™‚

We have been joined by a 4th helpxer – Lucia, also German. While Pablo and Nastya prefer spending Siesta at the pool down the road the Germansย stay in the shade (and in wifi-covered territory).

We took quite a lot of photos over the last few days. No day is like the next one either, as there is just so much work to do (and wine to taste). Also cannot yet notice my body going through any kind of transition – we are fed in copious amounts and with delicacies produced by our hosts. Jams, honey, cheeses – many of them sold to expensive restaurants in Prague – unless supplies run low – then we keep the rest for ourselves ๐Ÿ˜€

I’ll get a bit of slaughtering experience soon as well. The rabbits are already excited it seems.

There’s a lot of “firsts” every day – from operating all kinds of agricultural machinery to filling wine bottles. And I finally know how the cork finds its way into the bottle now – easier than out ๐Ÿ˜€

Tomorrow we’re on the road for 2 weeks already. We meet so many great people and experience so much that for me it feels like a longer trip already. Nastya is already planning ahead – direction South. Anybody planning to be on Balaton anytime soon?
